About My Studio
I am an instructor with over twenty-five years of experience and follow a traditional curriculum. No matter what your age or level, at my studio you are guaranteed professional and dedicated instruction tailored to your individual needs.

Very young beginners (4 to 6) learn to enjoy music through games, rhythm exercises, ear-training and singing, with a gradual introduction to reading. Students are taught early on about the importance of good hand position and relaxed posture as they begin playing the piano. My studio is equipped with an adjustable bench, footrest and pedal extender for the smallest students.
Older students study the building blocks of music - scales, chords and arpeggios in all keys - and have a good knowledge of music theory. They are exposed to a wide range of musical styles, from Baroque to contemporary, and are taught the performance practices of the various eras. Advanced techniques are introduced as students move toward more complex modern repertoire.

Adult students can take advantage of a flexible curriculum with lessons scheduled based on their availability and goals. My more advanced adult students select their repertoire and with my guidance learn to play it fluently and artistically. I keep the beginners and intermediate students motivated through appropriate and exciting repertoire as they discover classical music.

I encourage all of my students to perform frequently in recitals, festivals, competitions and ensembles and all advanced pianists learn concertos. Most of my students participate in the annual Young Musicians Festival at Fairfield University and have been top-scorers over the years. Some have taken part in competitions and as prize-winners have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. I offer expert guidance as they prepare for public appearances and am always supportive of their efforts to learn new skills throughout the semester.
Students play on my brand new Yamaha grand, my second instrument allowing for easy demonstration and accompaniment.

As an additional service I offer professionally recorded audio and/or video for auditions and competitions. My studio is outfitted with the latest in professional recording technology and I work with a sound/video engineer who will edit, mix and master your recording to present you with a file ready to send. These services are billed separately.

My studio is located in Norwalk, CT, close to exit 40B.
Teaching
My youngest student is five and my oldest in his sixties. What they, and all the students in between have in common is a love of music and enthusiasm for learning.

All my students regularly participate in recitals, competitions and festivals. Last year Arielle Belluck, now in college, won Second Prize in the Elite International Piano Competition and performed in the Winner's Recital at Carnegie Hall. This year three more students participated, won, and will be performing there in the spring. I look forward to another productive year of teaching!
